No way was that bit at the end of the debate authentic. Like all narcissists, Pierre Poilievre is a highly skilled manipulator and actor who knows exactly how to tap into his audience's wants, needs, dreams and emotions. Like Trump, he has amassed a cult-like following, the members of which are blind to who he really is.

Agreed… it looked and sounded exactly like he was playing a part. One he didn’t rehearse well enough. I can’t believe anyone fell for it.

💯 Agreed! That Poilievre emotional breakdown during the debate was pure theatre, as any woman who has ever experienced life with a narcissist recognizes. Or, as any parent with a toddler might recognize, it's the "poor me" tactic used to manipulate mommy or daddy to give in, so that the child gets its own way. (Which, incidentally, if not recognized as a manipulative tactic by savvy parents who lovingly and caringly nip such behaviours in the bud, contributes to the raising of adult narcissists.)

Poilievre's carefully executed show of empathy was fake and is a classic type of love-bombing narcissists use when their very attuned Spidey senses tell them they might be losing a grip on their victims' support or attention.❤️🇨🇦

Thank you, Susan for linking me to your website. The poem by pookie created a state of recognition so familiar that the listening brought tears, but the good kind that cleanse.

Survivors of narcissistic abuse recognize the signs in others and have a visceral reaction like my dog does when she scents a squirrel in our midst. Similarly, when I see the narcissism oozing out of Mr. Poilievre, the hairs on my body stand up and I start barking, too. ❤️🇨🇦🐕

Their Trudeau era tactics don't work in an era when enough voters are looking for clear solutions instead of reasons why Justin Trudeau sucks or why Canada is broken.

Not to mention still doing it after Justin did the ultimate trick to take down the Cons: his resignation.

Your insight into the farce of Poilievre is welcome as is your exposè of Danielle Smith. Both are IDU supporters and Canadians do not understand the extreme right-wing ideology of this political think tank headed by Harper.

Yes, the IDU with Harper at the helm, and Poilivre as his protege must be discussed more.

Another indicator that the CPC party will not be changing is they are keeping Jenni Byrne. Why? She lost with Harper and again with Poilievre.

Any proof of that.

She is still Poilievre’s advisor. And if the party was going to change- she would be gone. Being she is still with the party in the same capacity, the CPC party is not changing. Byrne is divisive, Poilievre is divisive, Scheer is divisive. Same old people- no changes for 20 years.

I just realized that Canada can be under the same threat as America! Money mongers come from more than one country!!!! Watch out Canada!!!!

Amazing that Scheer, a failed Con leader would now be selected as the interim leader.
