The very Reformist Preston Manning still mans the funding with his Oil sponsored Foundation. This is the Tea Party North, Libertarian, Christian Nationalist base - giving a lift up to all potential Canadian Conservative Politicians. Funding sources are easy to follow in this gang and it's time to name the corporations. That information used to be public. Now its more difficult to find.

Does he have his own “Project 2025” organization? I’m guessing that he does.

Poilievre's inner circle leans on campaign pros, but his May 2025 Leader’s Economic Growth Council—chaired by MP Greg McLean, a 20-year finance veteran—signals structured economic input beyond slogans. Co-chairs include ex-MP Rick Perkins, with CIBC tenure. This counters the expertise void, fostering targeted growth policies.

And after the election, we need full transparency. Mark Carney has campaigned on this recently, and is already practicing it. PP can't spell transparency, much less understand it. Here's why it's important:

A significant volume of problems in government, or rather, how government is perceived, is the lack of transparency. Money flows like water, all up and down the 3 layers of government. That's OUR money. Yet no one says where it's going, and then follows up with the proof. This has eroded the little bit of trust that we Canadians may have had in our governing bodies. Without that transparency, elections and governing will always be based on what is perceived to just be rhetoric and bullshit. The first cabinet to plan and prove where money was spent, will win every time.

Especially when we talk about provincial transfers. As everyone living in Ontario knows, transfers to the province to solve identified issues, is routinely pissed away by our Premier spending the money on whatever strikes his fancy. Money for medical? Let's dig a hole under the 401 instead. Who needs medical and health facilities when we can have a hole that only serves a small percentage of the population? Transparency is the pointing finger. The microscope that shows who's doing the right thing with OUR money, and who isn't.

Stephen Harper IDU post included getting cozy with Viktor Orban, the white Christian Nationalists and “illiberal democracy” that paved the way for the Heritage foundation and Donald Trump’s present play script “ Project25.” He encourage PP to go no contact with Media on his campaign and evidently condones not learning about foreign interference by refusing Security clearance. After all these strategies worked for Donald Trump, and PP’s buddies Musk and JDVance.

US national here. Poilievre sounds depressingly like the packaged candidates with tag lines and buzz words that BOTH of our political parties have been trotting out in recent decades. Substance-free word salad.

Listening to Mark Carney has been refreshingly genuine over the past week or so. Hopefully, Canadians are smarter than Americans

They are all members of the IUD. They are using the same playbook. I’ve been watching it unfold in the US since 1993. Although it started earlier.

The thing is Canadians are centralist. All we want is peace order and good government. When you guys had Regan we hade Mulroney. There was about a 4 year gap between your conservative government and ours.

We got a-lot of US news coverage so it was kinda obvious to us that we didn’t like what we saw at home or next door.

In 1993 the Mulroney government was destroyed in the voting booth.

They went from a 163 Majority government to only 2 seats in parliament.

The liberal party would hold power until 2006. The Canadian Party of Canada. Harper won the election however only 22% of eligible Canadian voters, the lowest level of support of any winning party in Canadian history.

Harper wasn’t all that popular as he had wanted Canada to join the Iraq war. He also wanted to de-regulate the banking sector the way that GWB in the USA did. He wasn’t in charge to make those decisions and by the time he was we were heading into the financial crisis of 2008. During this period Mark Carney was the head of the bank of Canada. Harper had a majority in 2011 and he showed a distrust of science. A-lot of his policies seem like a translated Republican policy. He sold off our newspaper industry to Rupert Murdock. Opened up alot of foreign ownership of companies. Sold off an oil Company to china. Caused a minor constitutional crisis. Ran alot of attack adds. These don’t tend to land well in Canada, but they were tame compared to American attack adds of that time.

In 2015 it was time for a change and the Liberals won a majority government. Justin Trudeau was PM for 10 years.

Then Rump happened and Trudeau stepped down and Carney stepped up. His leadership pulled the liberals back to the centre.

In Canada we like our politics boring. 🙂‍↔️

PP is Maple Maga, as is Danielle Smith and Stephen Harper. PP doesn't have anyone of stature to deal with the economic crisis Canada (and the World crisis) is currently facing. He has a plumber as an economic advisor and Stephen Harper…remember him and all of the shady dealing he did to try and move Canada towards where the USA is today?!?!

Stephen Harper is trying to gain a comeback through PP so he can complete his vision...Canada becoming the 51st state!!

Down with Maple Maga consortium...Stephen, Danielle and PP!
