Social media has made it more obvious how often people seem to think anything that doesn't go there way is unfair. It's as if they never grew out of that behavior. Continuing education in how the world around them works would be beneficial unfortunately we are left to ourselves to learn at our own pace after we leave formal education. I had a friend that really had zero idea how elections work...in his 50's.

That said there are quirks that could be improved in our system but never will.

I do not argue that the statutes and procedures are umdocratic. Rather, the problem is in the mechanics of party administration.

They have become so mechanical and top-down that every policy and message comes from Party leadership, and especially in the case of the governing party, the power rests in the PMO.

I remember over decades being stomped on when I spoke on matters for which I have technical competence.

Finally, I point to the issues discussed by Andrew Coyne, and he is no Conservative hack.

Excellent summation of the institution that governs our nation. Always great to be reminded of lessons covered in classrooms often not learnt well enough to be remembered, if at all. Thanks.
